Yes — family is welcome every day. We ask that visits happen between 8am and 8pm so residents can keep a restful routine, but there's no booking system and you don't need to call ahead. For diaspora families, we also host scheduled video calls at times that work across time zones.

A trained nurse is on site 24 hours a day. For genuine emergencies we have a direct line to a partner hospital in Kampala and an agreement with a private ambulance service. Family members are contacted immediately, day or night, and are kept informed at every stage.

Care plans are reviewed monthly and whenever a resident's needs change. Our nursing team can accommodate increasing care needs — including post-stroke recovery, advanced mobility support, and palliative comfort care. If specialist medical input is needed, we coordinate directly with your chosen doctor.

Every family receives a weekly written update (photos included) covering meals, mood, activities, medication, and any notable events. We also schedule video calls at times that suit your time zone — whether you're in London, Toronto, Boston, or Houston. You can reach the Care Manager directly by WhatsApp whenever you need reassurance.

Absolutely — we encourage it. Photos, a favourite armchair, a small rug, bedding, their own clothes. A room that smells and feels like theirs makes the transition far easier. Just talk to us in advance so we can plan the space.

Our minimum stay can be as short as one day. We also support longer stays for residents who need ongoing care, and short-term respite care for families who need a break or are arranging longer-term plans.

Yes, we care for residents with early and moderate dementia. Our staff are trained in dementia-sensitive care, and the home is laid out safely with secure perimeters. For very advanced dementia with significant behavioural complexity, we'll discuss honestly whether our small facility is the right fit — we'd rather say no than promise care we can't fully deliver.

Completely straightforward. We do the full intake conversation over video call, review medical records digitally, and arrange transport from home or hospital to our facility. Payment can be made via international bank transfer or mobile money. We've done this many times for diaspora families — you don't need to fly home to get your parent settled.

Yes — for confirmed residents booking a stay of seven days or more, we collect your loved one directly from Entebbe arrivals at no charge. Name on a sign, luggage handled, gentle drive home. Available 24 hours a day for any flight. We just need the flight number and arrival date once it's booked. For tour visitors or shorter stays, we're glad to recommend trusted drivers we work with regularly.

Yes. Most diaspora families pay this way. US-based families typically use Zelle (no fees, instant) directly from their US bank. UK and European families send via SWIFT, Wise, or Revolut in GBP or EUR. We accept the day's prevailing UGX rate at our partner bank — we don't add an FX margin. Every payment generates a clear receipt showing both currencies, the rate applied, and the date.

The daily rates on this site are quoted in UGX since that's our local currency. When you pay from abroad, your bank or transfer service (Zelle, Wise, etc.) converts your USD/EUR/GBP at their rate. We then receive the UGX amount and apply it to your account at our partner bank's published rate for that day. The exchange-rate widget on the pricing page gives you an indicative figure — your actual cost will be within a percent or two of that, depending on your transfer provider's rate.
